Cut the spam from your social media

Not only does spam look unprofessional on your social media account, it can also drown out comments from actual customers, i.e. part of the whole reason you got into social media in the first place. While shutting off all interaction is an effective way to block spam (as seen on this blog) it can be harmful if your purpose is to foster relationships with customers. Instead, try these spam-killing techniques while still staying open to the people who really care.1. Don’t auto-follow all Twitter accounts. Twitter is a hotbed for spammers, but the good news is it’s usually easy to recognize a spam account. Repetitive names, strings of numbers in names, and stock profile pics are usually an easy way to recognize spammers. Don’t let them into your sanctum of followers, and definitely don’t follow them.
